According to Apple only the Apple TV HD and 4K support fitness+. Is 3rd gen Apple TV still worthwhile? The third generation never supported Homekit as a Hub. The 4th generation (the 1st edition with touch pad remote) did and still does. The 5th generation (aka 4K) also supports Homekit.
